Design tip of the month: Hydrating the Hydrangea

Whenever using hydrangea, make sure they get plenty of water. Note the word HYDRA (hydrate). Hydrangea flowers are produced from early spring to late autumn. Here are some tips to make them last longer:

  • Lightly spray the flowers with water to keep them hydrated.
  • If they start to wilt, dip the entire flower in the sink full of water for a few minutes, recut the stem & put in water with flower food.

These tips, if applied correctly will help perk up the flowers within a few hours or overnight.

Coto de Caza’s Bridal Open House

January 16, 2010

I was honored to be invited by Coto de Caza to provide  floral centerpieces for their Bridal Open House as well as speak on a panel of their Preferred Vendors.  I met lots of brides & their families & they enjoyed tray passed hors’ d’oeuvres and champagne, while tasting cakes, sampling treats from the caramel fountain and meeting photographers, DJ’s and taking pictures in the photo booth. Here are a few of my photos.  I’ll add the professional photos soon.
